Serving the Greater Pittsburgh Area and portions of Ohio and West Virginia with information on Parkinson's Disease, physician referrals, and access to local support groups

OUR MISSION  The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. (APDA) is a not-for-profit voluntary health agency committed to serving the Parkinson community through a comprehensive program of research, education, and support. APDA was founded in 1961 to "Ease the Burden and Find the Cure" for Parkinson's Disease. APDA supporters have invested very heavily in this Association, allowing for continuous expansion of its goals. The growing support received from the public at large, persons with PD, and their families, and the pharmaceutical companies has made the APDA the largest grass roots organization in the U.S. dedicated to fighting this disease.  This dedicated broad base of support has helped us to ease the burden, and will bring us closer than ever to the moment when we will be able to find the cure.

YOUR GENEROUS GIFTS ARE KEY-and the primary  funding source for the American Parkinson Disease Association.  These thoughtful donations, along with bequests, memorial tributes, and private grants fund research for a cure for Parkinson's dusease.  They also help maintain our Chapters and Information and Referral Centers across the country, whose mission it is to provide service to the Parkinson community with free literature, information on PD, educational programs, activities, physician referrals, and support.
